Frequently Asked Questions
- How long have you been involved in computer graphics?
- Since 1998.
- Are you still dealing with computer graphics?
- Yes, I do. To date, I have generated nearly 1 TB of image data (more than 40,000 files). My collection of designs, art (including new images), and scripts is so complex that without exclusively dedicate myself to graphics only, this data package cannot be processed. I need to find a way to solve this.
- Can I add some of your images to the collection on my Web site?
- Yes, if you meet the following conditions. The images will not be used for direct or indirect commercial purposes and will remain intact. It must be quite clear that I am the author of the images. Enjoy!
- What image viewer do you use?
- I prefer ACDSee Classic. I use it for several reasons:
- it is very fast,
- has a simple interface,
- has the ability to display image thumbnails,
- can directly navigate directories,
- can view PSD images and
- magnifies images so that pixels are visible.
When I need to convert an image to another graphic format, I use IrfanView. I also use IrfanView to optimize and edit JPEG files. I use PNGOUT to convert images to PNG format. And I use XnView MP to view photos. - Why are you doing computer graphics?
- When I create images in Photoshop, my brain shuts down completely and focuses on the only thing - the one I see in front of me. Nothing else exists at the time. In this way, I can relieve stress and relax.
For those who despite what I do in my spare time, I have an answer - because I can do it. - What are your other favorites besides computer graphics?
- I enjoy programming in PHP. I enjoy inventing algorithms. In addition to the artistic side, I am interested in computer graphics at a lower level (how image processing works: image derivatives, image gradient, kernel convolution, Gaussian filter, other filters, image formats, image resizing algorithms, color spaces, image corrections, statistical evaluation of images).
- What influences your work?
- Music.
- What kind of music do you listen to?
- My favorite genre is electronic music. I do not have one favorite artist, but I like to listen to selected albums from these artists (in alphabetical order):
Arkestra One, Attica Blues, Avril, Bonobo, Breakbeat Era, Chemical Brothers, Daughter Darling, DJ Krush, DJ Quicksilver, DJ ⁄rupture, Emilíana Torrini, Empress Of, Fiordmoss, Flying Lotus, GusGus, January, Lamb, Marian Hill, Mathematics, Mylo, Peaches, Red Snapper, Robert Logan, Robyn, Seaker, Sneaker Pimps, Terranova, Tricky.Electronic music reached out to me when I got my hands on an album called 'Lamb' by an equally named band.
In addition to electronic music, I also listen to other genres such as:
- Pop/Rock (Emeli Sandé, Falco, Kelly Clarkson, Liz Phair, Natalie Imbruglia, Pretty Things, Prince,
Sophie B. Hawkins, White Stripes) - R&B (Alicia Keys, Nikka Costa)
- Rap (Kanał Audytywny, Princess Superstar, RZA)
- Folk (Banjo Band Ivana Mládka)
- Latin (Angelica Garcia, Manu Chao)
- Pop/Rock (Emeli Sandé, Falco, Kelly Clarkson, Liz Phair, Natalie Imbruglia, Pretty Things, Prince,
- What are your favorite games?
- Although I do not play games often, several titles have accumulated in some time that have captivated me. These games include:
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- Legend of Grimrock 2
- Rage
- Wolfenstein: The New Order
- Subnautica
- Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim
- System Shock 2
- Alien Isolation
- Gumshoe ( C64 game )
- Ancient Planet ( mobile game )
- Can you reveal anything about the technical details of this Web site?
- I do not use any commercial or free database. A long time ago I decided, for certain technical reasons, to design my own database. Such a solution has two advantages and one disadvantage. The advantage is the speed and ease of deployment. The downside is more complex programming. And yes, this database is faster than any multipurpose database.
As for the server, to my knowledge it is a small, passively cooled computer. - Do you use WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger? We could chat about graphics or stuff.
- No, I do not. I could download it (sign up) but frankly, I do not have time to chat.
